What does the Gourd Series look like in real life?
Here’s how our Soul Lotus team members wear the pieces in everyday life—no filters, no edits, just an honest look at how the Gourd Series shines under natural sunlight.
Worn in Real Life
Real people. Natural light. Everyday scale.

Why the Gourd?
Known as hulu (葫芦), the gourd has carried auspicious meanings in Chinese art for centuries. Historical works use its form to express wishes for fortune, prosperity and peace, while gourds also appear alongside Daoist immortals and imagery associated with longevity.
GOOD WISHES
Blessing & Prosperity
The sound and form of hulu became associated with auspicious wishes for good fortune and prosperity.
LONGEVITY
A Wish That Endures
Gourd imagery appears within wider Chinese traditions of longevity and auspicious decorative art.
DAOIST HERITAGE
Carried by Immortals
Gourds are also recognizable attributes in imagery of Daoist immortals, connecting the form with ideas of longevity and transcendence.
For Soul Lotus, the gourd becomes a quieter modern wish: may life feel full, fortunate, and enduring.

SOUL LOTUS RITUAL
A Quiet Blessing, Included
Before each Soul Lotus piece is packed, it is prepared in China with a quiet Taoist blessing—a symbolic gesture of intention and good wishes for the person who will eventually wear it.
It is not a promise of luck or any specific outcome. For us, it is simply a way of sending each piece into the world with care and a good wish attached.

SOUL LOTUS
Meaning, Made Wearable.
Soul Lotus reimagines symbols from Chinese culture as jewelry for modern life—from koi and gourds to clouds, ruyi, taiji, and traditional talismanic forms.
We state materials clearly and treat symbolism as what it is: a source of meaning, reflection, and good wishes—not a promise of any specific outcome.
Rooted in Chinese Culture
Symbols drawn from Chinese art, folklore, philosophy, and traditional visual language—reinterpreted with respect for where they come from.
Designed with Intention
Every motif, proportion, texture, and hidden detail is considered to let traditional symbolism feel natural in modern everyday wear.
A Quiet Blessing, Included
Before each piece leaves China, it is prepared with a quiet Taoist blessing—a symbolic gesture of intention and good wishes for the person who will eventually wear it. (What is a quiet blessing? →)
