Taiji

Taiji, also known as Dao, is often described as 'the interplay of yin and yang.' It reflects the idea that everything in the universe, whether it be the heavens, earth, or human nature, has two sides. Like the black and white within the Taiji symbol, these opposites coexist, constantly change, and interact with one another. Today, Taiji is often used to represent an inner harmony, rationality, and the practice of following the natural way.

According to legend, there was a wise man named Zhang Cang who spent many years in the mountains, studying the laws of nature and the universe. Fascinated by the relationship between yin and yang and the workings of the cosmos, he sought a way to express the balance and harmony of the universe.

One day, while deep in contemplation in the mountains, Zhang Cang observed the stars in the sky, the rivers on the earth, and the phenomena between heaven and earth. He realized that everything in the universe followed a natural law: the interplay of yin and yang. The balance between these forces maintained the world's order.

Inspired, Zhang Cang sketched the ancient Taiji diagram, reflecting upon the sky and the earth, seeking the mysteries of the universe. He understood that the black and white fish shapes in the Taiji symbol represented the transformation and unity of yin and yang, signifying that all things in the universe operate in balance and harmony.
