Camellia

The camellia is considered a celestial flower in legends, said to have originated in ancient times.

According to the story, during a grand floral gathering, all the flower deities would dress in their finest attire and share their experiences from their travels. When it was the camellia goddess’s turn, she recounted a tale she had witnessed during her time among mortals.

One day, a couple was on their way home when a group of bandits ambushed them. The leader of the bandits, captivated by the woman’s beauty, decided to take her back as his wife.

The camellia goddess observed the scene for a while, seeing that the man had already been knocked unconscious, while the woman, determined and brave, prepared to defend herself with a wooden stick. 

Moved by her courage and resolve, the goddess decided to intervene. As the woman swung the stick, countless camellia petals suddenly appeared out of thin air, swirling around and confusing the bandits. Startled by the strange sight, the bandits fled in terror.

The camellia goddess then revealed herself to the woman, telling her that the spell would protect them on their way home. She also explained that if they ever encountered danger again, the camellia flower could be used to ward off evil. The couple knelt and expressed their deep gratitude.

After returning home, they shared their miraculous experience with their neighbors, and from that day forward, the camellia became celebrated as a symbol of steadfastness and bravery
