Rose

According to Greek mythology, roses were created by the goddess Chloris. In the beginning, the rose was just a lifeless seed in the forest.

One day, Chloris discovered it in a clearing and requested Aphrodite, the goddess of love, to give it beauty. Dionysus, the god of wine, then poured divine nectar over it, granting it fragrance. The Three Graces bestowed charm, wisdom, and joy upon it.

Finally, the god of the west wind, Zephyr, cleared the clouds, and Apollo, the sun god, shone his light on it. Thus, the rose was born and crowned as the queen of all flowers.

Over 3,000 years ago, in the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, roses were famously cultivated in Damascus, earning them widespread renown.

When the ancient Egyptians heard of this stunning flower, they journeyed far and wide to find it, eventually bringing it to Rome in exchange for vast amounts of gold.

The Romans treasured roses, keeping them in their palaces and offering them to the gods of love and wine, Venus and Bacchus, as symbols of beauty and passion.
